    Acrobatic Lion

It is “Me” Day. I’m on my own now until I reunite with my parents during Chinese New Year, which is about 2 weeks from now. Can’t wait!

Went to have my hair cut today and got to watch the acrobatic lion dance performance at One Utama which started at 4pm. By 3pm, I was already waiting there, to see the lions. I really don’t know why I like them so much. Only know it makes me happy when I see one. One of the reason why I like to spend Chinese New Year in Sandakan so much is that it is filled with lion dance troupes. Every 1st, 2nd, 3rd day of Chinese New Year, I’ll be waiting on the bed, waiting for the sound of the drums, like how children wait for Santa Claus to come on Christmas Day. No kidding. I’m really excited to the max. And I think as I age, the more excited I get. They usually come very early on the 1st day, around 8am.

Anyway, because it was only 3pm and there is another hour to go before the performance starts, I went walking around and when I got back half an hour before the performance started, the crowd was already there, booking a spot for themselves. See? At least I’m not the only one who’s so obssessed with lions. But then I was late because I couldn’t find an empty slot to squeeze in. I stood behind a couple and prayed hard they would be impatient to wait till 4pm and will leave and I would have a place to stand. Guess what? They really left. Me so happy only. Quickly hop into that empty space like a Bunny who just found her orangey carrot.

After that, two budak kecik squeeze in front of me so I have to really stand still because there’s one budak besar (mother of budak kecik) standing behind me who really did make a close contact that she was literally leaning against my back lah. Next to me stood two pair of couples, to my left and right, so really cannot move at all. Taking my camera from my bag also did require some stunt because I was holding a shopping bag and cannot simply swing lah. Want to turn around to see who’s the budak besar also cannot because if I do so, I’ll be kissing her already.

If you want to see more pictures, click on the picture above to be redirected to another link. Not that the pictures are pretty since I was standing a level above it and taking from afar. But boleh lah.

By 11am, cars were already queueing up to enter the car park in One Utama. And when you enter the shopping centre, it’s like everything’s free. No need money to buy. I also want to pokkai already. This month is going to be the month I spend a lot of money. It started with buying an air ticket to fly home. A return ticket, KL – Sandakan, KL, if you’re flying MAS is now RM1500. It used to be only RM800. And because I’m not that rich to fork out RM1500, I’m flying AirAsia and because it’s the festive season and because I book only two months ago, it costs around RM800++ (return ticket), still cheaper than MAS lah.

But then, I still feel like going shopping sebab setahun hanya sekali saya shop massive punya.

    Ok, sleep.

    Patch

The moment I spotted him, it put a big, wide, stupid grin on my face. Grace, are you sure you want to get another toy? Hmm…no no. So, I walked out of the shop but cannot stop thinking about it. Macam dah jatuh cinta ni. How?

Walked back to the shop. Stupid grin came back to my face. Have to buy. Cannot sleep if I don’t buy. In fact, cannot forgive myself if I don’t buy.

    His name is Patch.

  • 5 Things U Might Not Noe About Me

    Got tagged by Pelf…again!

    1. During a camp, I went out to the playground and climbed onto the seesaw. Because I had no one to play with me at that time, I played alone. When you play alone, this is how you do it. You get on the side of the seesaw that’s touching the ground, push your legs up from the ground with all your might. Fly up to the air and let your own weight get you back to the real world. One advice is that when the seesaw comes flying down, you shouldn’t cross your legs and wrap it under the seesaw. Because it HURTS so much! I went to bathe that evening without telling any of the camp officers that I was injured. Nobody knows about it, not even my parents. My leg somehow healed.

    2. Perhaps the only sports that I was good at was the “sack race” (Lari Dalam Guni).

    3. I love driving on a long, quiet road, especially during the wee hours of the morning of a public holiday.

    4. I like to swim but I’m pool-shy.

    5. I need to cry once in a while. It’s a form of detoxification even though sometimes there isn’t really something sad to cry about. But I think you know this already lah!

She was singing Charlene’s “I’ve Never Been to Me” in front of the 3-table crowd. Her husband, sitting at one of the tables, took the other mic and joined her along in that karaoke session.

Seeing him singing, she walked towards where he was standing and stood next to him. They sang together and the husband put his arms around her waist. She hugged him in return too.

How sweet! I like seeing couples in love. And when you think it’s so hard to be in love, it looks so simple when it happens to others around you. Then, you let out a sigh of envy and you promise yourself you’re going to love someone you love and to be loved by someone who loves you. Even though it may take a little while more…

  • Your Song

Yes, I like this song! Some of the lovely lines..

It’s a little bit funny this feeling inside
I’m not one of those who can easily hide

I know it’s not much but it’s the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one’s for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it’s done
    I hope you don’t mind
I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you’re in the world

But the sun’s been quite kind while I wrote this song
It’s for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I’ve forgotten if they’re green or they’re blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen

  • Happiness Is …#25

Having a long happy story to tell!

    :d

Last Saturday, I went shopping with Mummy and I saw this 3/4 jeans that I really really like. Slipping it into me, it fitted me so perfectly well. Looks so good on my bum. Looks so good on me.

    ;;)

I walked around, holding that pair of jeans while waiting for Mummy who still wanted to look on other items. As I walked, I told Mummy that I liked the jeans a lot. And when I saw the mannequin wearing the same jeans that I was holding, I pointed to Mummy again and asked her if she thinks it’s pretty too.

I walked away happily from the store after making our purchases.

    ;))

Last night, when I was about to go to bed. Mummy came and asked me, “Grace, did you take out your jeans from the shopping bag?”

    “No…why?”

    “It’s not in there.”

You know…my face turned into shit at once.

    I felt like shit too.

    =((

Not wanting to believe it, I went in searching of my jeans in the shopping bag.

    NIL.

I counted the list of items on the receipt. It reads 7 but in the shopping bag, there was only 6. We paid for 7 goodies only to bring home 6.

I’ve never felt so lousy over “small” matter like this. The effect wouldn’t be that great if either one of the 2 items I bought that wasn’t in the bag, but why has it got to be my jeans? WHY?

“Mummy, I don’t think I can sleep tonight. I will need to think before I can sleep.”

“Sorry, but I’ve got to tell you. Or maybe I should wait till tomorrow.”

“No lah, if you tell me tomorrow morning, then I cannot drive to work.”

“Oh yaya, that would be worse.”

Lying on the bed, I told Mummy, “Mee, just now when you told me about it, I wanted to cry.”

    :((

“I also feel like crying because I know you liked it so much.”

“Tomorrow I’m going to try to get it back.”

“If you happen you get it back or if you couldn’t and if you get another pair, I’m going to hug it to bed tomorrow night.”

    “CHI SIN!!”

    #-o

So, I went to work this morning and Mummy went to the store again to try her luck.

She explained to the cashier about what happened. They got her the jeans but also told her to wait. Then, they confirmed that the jeans hasn’t left the store yet. They saw it through the CCTV.

Mummy came home with my beloved jeans.

Actually, I knew about it soon after she got the jeans. When I got her SMS, my motivation to work rose. I was smiling stupidly at the computer screen, while telling friends that knew about my story that I’ve got it back!

Really, I’m so happy! My heart beats again!
