Run, Bunny. Run!

  • First of May

Just in case you’re wondering what I’ve been doing:

I’ve been spending time with Mummy, who’s now back to Sandakan.

I’ve been sitting in the saloon for 4 hours. Read every glossy magazine within my sight.

I’ve been staring at myself because that’s what I normally do after a hairdo, whether or not I like what the hairdresser has done to my hair.

I’ve been tweaking my blog. Upgraded from WordPress 1.5.2 to 2.0.2. No one was hurt in the process, except I stayed up quite late due to the curiosity of why things are not working and the determination to get things work.

Added some plugins too. The obvious changes you will see in this blog is it’s gravatar-enabled. All you need to do is sign up for a free account at Gravatar. Each time you post a comment, remember to insert your email address because the gravatar will appear based on the email address you’ve entered which is also the same email address used when you sign up at Gravatar.
Else, you will be a purple snow flake like thisdefault gravatar Or whatever I want you to be.

Next, comes the one I love most. The Yahoo Messenger smilies which will grace both the blog entries and comments like this…:) 😀 😡

I’m still not done yet because there is so much that I’ve discovered. Don’t you just love the Internet?

Believe it or not, it’s already a quarter of 2006. The 2nd quarter of 2006 will be a busy one because I would need to get up early to cook, pack my lunch to the office. Mummy has been cooking for me for the past one whole month so there wasn’t much that I needed to worry. All that I needed to do was eat. Now that no one’s going to cook for me but myself, it’s time to visit the kitchen more frequently and coming out with a list of schedule of what to cook. Hopefully, I’ll be turned into some chef by the end of the 2nd quarter. The whole plan here is to domesticate myself. When cooking becomes a habit, it will no longer be a chore.
I am feeling so happy today even though all I’m doing now is stay at home. I love the fact that I’m at home on a Monday. I wish there were only 4 days of work and 3 days of holiday. Then, I can kiss Monday blues goodbye.

It’s 3:03 and I’m going to get my lunch.

  • My Wife

“If I’m a man, I would want to marry someone who knows how to do housework as my wife.”

“Then, would you want to marry me?”

    “No.”

My stomach was upset today and I was at home. Mummy sometimes like to talk about things when we are in the kitchen.

Mummy wouldn’t want to marry me because I’ve been so lazy when she’s around.

    Grace needs to work harder.

  • My Personal DNA Report

    about you

    You are a Visionary.

    • Your imagination, self-assuredness, and knowledge of the world combine to make you a VISIONARY.
    • You have clear notions of how things could be, and the confidence to try to make them that way.
    • You enjoy having a routine, and prefer comfort and familiarity to risk and adventure.
    • Not needing others' approval to forge ahead, you are confident in your designs for the future.
    • Your imagination allows you to envision the world as a better place.
    • You're better at thinking of the big picture than you are with details, and you can see wonder in abstract things.
    • Style and appearances are important to you, and you have a good eye for beauty.
    • You are somewhat rigid in your beliefs, which comes from both confidence and an aversion to change.
    • You are good at creating works of art in forms with which you're familiar.
    • You're not one to force your positions on a group, and you tend to be fair in evaluating different options.
    • You're well-attuned to your emotional state, and not afraid to use your feelings to guide you.
    • You tend to be cooperative, rarely contradicting others, and always considerate of their feelings.
    • You are a fashion maven, up on trends, but distinct in your own style. You don't follow trends, you set them.
    • Generally, you believe that you control your life, and that external forces only play a limited role in determining what happens to you.

If you want to be different:

    • Appreciate the earthly, functional elements of things.
    • Your clarity of vision sometimes prevents you from being open to new ideas. Try expanding your horizon of experiences, and experimenting with novel ways of doing things.

    how you relate to others

    You are Faithful

    • Your trust in others, respect for tradition, and caring nature make you FAITHFUL.
    • Maintaining a few intimate relationships is more important to you than knowing a lot of people, and you share a lot with your close friends.
    • Those who have managed to get close to you value your camaraderie, and they know that they can trust you with anything; you're a good listener.
    • While you can usually see several sides of an argument, you often have a strong opinion as to which side is correct—the order of things is usually clear to you.
    • Your perspective on the world is based on careful observation, and you know a lot about how people feel in—and react to—many situations.
    • Your exploration of others' feelings has led you to believe that although people generally act appropriately, having clear social rules is very important to a functional society.
    • Time alone for reflection is important to you—you are introspective and aware of your own feelings.
    • Faithful is as faithful does—you expect those with whom you are close to be loyal to you, and you take betrayal of your trust very seriously.
    • You're not one to force your positions on a group, and you tend to be fair in evaluating different options.
    • You're well-attuned to your emotional state, and not afraid to use your feelings to guide you. You tend to be cooperative, rarely contradicting others, and always considerate of their feelings.
    • You are a fashion maven, up on trends, but distinct in your own style. You don't follow trends, you set them.
    • Generally, you believe that you control your life, and that external forces only play a limited role in determining what happens to you.

If you want to be different:

    • Some of the alternate perspectives that you understand may have more value than you give them credit for—keep in mind that right and wrong aren't always so clear-cut.
    • While you are able to reap the benefits of your time alone, and may see interacting with a lot of people as more tiring than exciting, remember that there is a lot to be learned from experiencing things and not just reflecting on them.

  • Fish

I drove for one hour and 15 minutes today. Thanks to the road closure at NKVE. It was hell even before the Subang toll. A standstill. &*(((@&$&#$($&#(!!!

There was a power maintenance in the office which was scheduled to last only for half an hour. But what happened was, it took a long 3 hours.

Nobody in the office was doing any work. Not that we don’t want to but we can’t. I don’t know why they need to do it during office hours but this is like too dramatic already. 3 hours without answering any calls. No replying of emails.

Enjoying as we could even knowing how mad the customers can be when they call once the system is up.

Everyone had lunch at the same time since we could do nothing. Then, we talked. It’s nice to listen to stories because these people here, they have so much to tell, you won’t get bored.

With everyone sharing their stories, you feel like you’re not the only one. We have so many newbies and freshies who join the organization and they seem like they are happy with where they are and with what they do. But if you look beyond the surface, everyone is yearning to do something different, to go back to their own field.

I always get the same question wherever I go and the same reaction when I answer them. Sometimes they don’t ask anymore because they already know from someone else.

“Grace, I heard that you graduated with a degree in IT.”

“Yes. Then what brought you here?”

My standard reply would be, “This is the first offer that I got so I just thought of trying it out. But I would one day like to go back to do what I’m supposed to do.”

Then, another commented, “I want to go back to do Engineering too.”

Then, another said, “I want to go back to do what I’ve studied too.”

Then, they were talking about their boyfriends and I listened. Don’t expect me to even start because I don’t have one now. And don’t even expect me to announce to everyone that I have broke up.

But I could just smell the question coming. It’s unavoidable and I was very much prepared.

    “How’s your boyfriend?”

    “I broke up already.”

“You broke up already? I’m sorry. Sorry ah, sorry ah.”

“It’s ok” And I have to say it with a smile to assure her that it’s okay. Because I really am. Sometimes I want to feel like I’m suffering but then I’m just not. I’m okay.

Then, another manager came and we joined in the conversation and they were talking about marriages and stuff like that. Ya, now you know what girls like to talk about.

“I believe all 4 of you are not married yet.”

    We nodded our heads.

“Any boyfriend?” She looked at me. Aku yang kena lagi.

    “Broke up already.”

Then, in came an awkward silence which made me feel so uncomfortable because I think they thought I’m not okay or something so they didn’t really know what to say.

Then, the manager said, “Don’t worry. There are many fishes out there.” I’ve heard this for the don’t know how many timeth. Why do they call it fish? Why not rabbits? Why not penguins?

    Why fish? Do you know?

  • This is a Story about 3 Pears

“Go cut some fruits before I kill you!”

Gracie went to the kitchen and sliced 3 pears before her Mummy kills her.

Mummy strutted into the kitchen to check if Gracie wants herself to be killed.

“You know, you look very cute and pretty from the behind.”

Then, she touched touched my arms.

“Yeah, but when you see her face from the front, you feel like killing her, right?”

I said and laughed by myself.

She was trying to control from laughing but can’t help to give me a good grin. She gave me a light poke on the left cheek and then walked away.

  • Strangers

The only time I’ll be outside of the office building is when I drive to work and when I drive back from work. So really, you won’t even see me hanging around outside of the building during any other times than the one mentioned since there is nowhere to go for lunch and I pack lunch to work everyday since the very first day we moved. Sometimes, I feel like I’m working in a prison, a very nice prison.

Surprisingly though, someone saw me and is able to recognise my face and is able to get my Friendster profile and he sent me this message, “Hi, do you work in xxxx xxxx? I think I’ve seen you before.”

I didn’t know what to say because it sounded a bit unbelievable due to the fact that he has only seen me once so I asked him where and when he spotted me.

He was actually attending an interview at a company of the next building and happened to pass by my company. I don’t recall seeing anyone besides people who works in the same office as me.

That’s not all. Before this happened, someone I didn’t know sent me this message, “Are you Grace? Are you staying in xxx xxx?” The address mentioned was my house in Sandakan.

    “Yes, how do you know?”

“Because I saw your picture and I know the place.”

I presumed he is either staying near me or is very familiar with that housing area. He gave me his name but I don’t know him.

    Gracie is being stalked!

    bunny

    Today is Bunny’s death anniversary.

Today is the day I graduated last year.

Today is the day I started my 7th log book to jot down call details.

  • Happy Easter Sunday!

I like the bunny that’s on today’s Sunday Star paper.

  • Winter Wonderland

It’s winter in the office. The rain made it colder.

Almost everyone was in their sweaters and jackets. Guys included so you know how cold it is. Coldest ever in history.

Then, came a thunder while I was on the line with a customer. The line got cut off. It’s like the customer suddenly went dead. It was scary and before I knew it, the server was down. We couldn’t receive any incoming calls nor make outgoing calls. For the first time ever, we were free! I’m not going to answer anymore calls when there is thunder, who knows I might die while talking.

This guy sitting behind me likes my red Patrick a lot. Patrick the dog.

    “Your Patrick is so cute.”

I think he said that for 3 times.

I love my surrounding neighbours in the office. They give me warmth on a winter day like today.

It was so cold today, I was incapable of sweating while working out in the gym. I gave up and went to bathe.

Watched “Gubra” today. Laughed and cried. Disturbing and makes you think.

    Happy Good Friday!
