  • Swollen Gum

I woke up with a very sore and swollen gum. I must be too heaty or the wisdom tooth is growing. It took me an hour to finish off the pao I had for breakfast this morning. It took me more than half an hour to finish my packet of porridge during lunch. And for dinner, I practically swallowed rice.

I have been drinking herbal tea for the entire day….but it’s not going anywhere.

    GAWD.

  • Happy April Fool’s Day

April is here and it was a tiring and anger-filled day at work, especially the last hour before I left the office and I was actually holding on very tightly to the steering wheel, allowing the anger to subside as I drove on. I just feel so drained.

Then, a stupid car honked at me and I just shouted “YALAH!”

Wanted to cry but the tears just wouldn’t flow because I wasn’t sad. I was too angry for words. So angry that my hands shivered while I typed.

Tomorrow, I don’t want to be angry anymore, or at least, I do not want to reveal my anger. You know how when people bully you and they enjoy seeing you shrink, panic, being angry, sad and weak. I’m so not going to do that.

Tomorrow, I’ll be the usual me. I’m gonna play it cool and take whatever that is being thrown at me as calm as I can.

    Go Gracie!!!

  • YES, I Live on Trees! OKAY?

Apparently, if you are born in Sabah, you come from the jungle. That was what Pappy’s friend told us while we had dinner with him today.

And he went on talking about, “I wonder how you all live there.”

Do you walk around with spears and all? BLOODY IDIOT.

Do you have Astro? YES, WE DO.

Do you have Internet? YES, WE DO.

What is the speed like? ALL THAT TMNET HAS GOT TO OFFER.

What languages do you speak? JUST LIKE WHAT YOU SPEAK HERE IN KL.

Do you speak Cantonese like here? YES.

Is your Cantonese one level lower than us? I think our spoken Cantonese is better. I WAS SO PISSED OFF, I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY.

CAN YOU TELL ME WHY….WHY..CITY PEOPLE ALWAYS THINK WE LIVE ON TREES, WE COME FROM THE JUNGLE??

I SUGGEST TO THOSE WHO STILL HAVE THIS STUPID MENTALITY IN THEM TO COME HERE TO SEE FOR THEMSELVES!!

    WHY?

BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL SO KAMPUNG!

  • A Shorter Short Hair

I had a haircut again today. I know it is short and you must be wondering, what else is there to cut since it’s so short. The hair on the right side of my head loves to “fly” and I just had to get help to “de-fly” it. It looks neater now but I’m not sure about the flying part. My hair is unpredictable, suffers from more bad hair days than normal hair days. They are thick, hard and stubborn. I inherited this part of me from my dad.

Had dinner today at Ming Chun Kee Restaurant along Jalan 17/1A. It is situated at the ground floor of one of the PKNS flats, next to a motorcycle shop. Their curry fish head, lala in soup are nice. I would always order lala in soup whenever I’m there, just like today. Pappy ordered assam ma yao fish too. Even though it was dinner for two, I was like the only one eating. The entire plate of lala, I walloped because Pappy only took a few. The fish was a bit spicy so Pappy couldn’t take much so again, I had most of the fish. And now I have a stomach with the size of a drum.

    h.e.l.p!

  • Office Politics

I’ve often heard of how bad some office politics can turn out to be but I just couldn’t picture how terrible it could get. Today is one of the days in which I felt so much injustice. Today it also opened my eyes to another world that I knew existed but could never feel how it tastes like.

People can be so biased that they are blind. And if a person is set to nail a person down, he/she goes all out, in spite of whatever measures just to sabotage the other. It is so scary.

I felt very sad and angry for a colleague of mine who did nothing wrong but was sentenced guilty of committing an offence, which isn’t an offence at all. To me, the whole issue was ridiculous because accusations were simply thrown to the innocent faces.

It has taught me to be careful at work but then again, it doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be safe and protected.

Sometimes I just don’t understand why people love to play all these games at work, it is tiring you know? Just listening and knowing about it is tiring enough, what more being the one involved, being the one plotting the plan and carrying out the dirty tactics.

I sincerely hope that the truth will be revealed one day and that it will open the eyes for those who have been blind. The good ones will seek a better opportunity out there and the bad ones will have trouble sleeping at night.

Yeap, today I felt like strangling someone.

  • Back to Work

My soul is definitely not back in Kuala Lumpur. It feels like it is still lingering somewhere in Bangkok. It was so hard to make myself work today but I tried to force myself to actually finish off some tasks.

I love travelling and now that I’m back from Bangkok, I am looking forward so much to my trip to Bali next month. I sincerely hope that my plans won’t be ruined. If the boyfriend suddenly tells me that he won’t be able to make it, I just don’t know what unimaginable things I would do.

DEAR GOD, PLEASE MAKE SURE MY BALI TRIP IS GOING TO BE FANTASTICALLY FANTASTIC! THANK YOU!

  • I’m Back from Bangkok!

It feels good because I used my money to buy stuff as shown below. Not all items are for myself. Some will go to cute and wonderful people that I know. Shall tell you more about my Bangkok trip because I need to go to bed and I’m working tomorrow.

  • Day 2: Chatuchak Weekend Market

    Sawadee kap! 😀

    It is shopping day!

We took a taxi to Chatuchak Weekend Market which took around 15 minutes and we reached about 9am. The taxi dropped us at the entrance of Jatujak Plaza and we then made our way into Jatujak Plaza to get to Chatuchak Weekend Market. Before that, we had breakfast and because everything was written in Thai, we had to point at what we wanted to order and pray that what we point is what we get. 😛

Walking around Chatuchak Market was a bit like walking in a maze. Even though we had a free directory, we kept walking to the same place again. So much so that we actually gave up hope of looking at the map. Some clothing items were very cheap, so cheap that you don’t know if you should bargain or if so, how much should you bargain it for.

Managed to find ourselves in the pet section and I saw bunnies. Bunnies wearing clothes…but then we were not allowed to take pictures..so I won’t be able to show you the bunnies that I saw.

We left the market at about 4pm. By then, we were all hot, sweaty and sticky!

This time around, we were cheated by the taxi driver who drove us home. When we came, it only costs us THB150. But when we went back from Chatuchak, the taxi driver didn’t want to follow the metre and demanded for THB360. And because he was saying how jammed it is and all, we believed him. But in actual fact, there wasn’t any jam because it’s a Saturday. No jams on weekend. Considering that this was our first day out to Bangkok by ourselves, we just took it as a learning experience.

We went home to rest and take a bath before heading to Sofitel Silom Bangkok for a buffet dinner. My colleagues have got a complimentary meal voucher for 2…so I tagged along and being the extra person, it was chargeable and the bill was then divided among us.

Next, we walked to Patpong which was just a stone’s throw away, taking glances of scantily clad girls dancing inside go-go bars. And as you walk along Patpong, there’ll be guys asking you if you want to see shows. There’s a list of pussy shows and one of them was Pussy Ping-Pong. I have no idea what is that. Then, there’s this guy who came along with a list, accompanied with illustrations. One female, two female, one male and one female and etc.

We then went for a Thai Massage. Foot massage to be exact but it wasn’t really good as it wasn’t painful at all. We managed to have another foot massage session on the next day…but I’ll leave that in the next entry.

This is the view overlooking Bangkok city from where we stay. Awesome I know.

  • Day 1: City of Angels, Here I Come!

I was feeling quite tired after work as I didn’t had enough sleep the night before. Took a taxi to LCCT after dinner and waited for our flight to Bangkok. The flight was earlier retimed one hour later than scheduled. When we were in the departure hall, there was another announcement saying that the flight will be another half an hour late. In the end, we flew close to 12 midnight instead of 10:20pm. By the time we landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport, it was already 2 something. And for the first time in my entire flying life, my luggage came out first! It was jumping out happily from the luggage belt. Looks like my luggage is excited as I am!

We put up at my colleagues’ friend’s condo near Central Rama 3, located about 39 kilometres from the airport. A nice and cozy place. We had earlier booked a triple room at a hostel but cancelled it at a very last minute.

We talked for a little while about our plans for the next day before falling asleep.

On a sidenote, Bangkok is also known as Krung Thep, which means City of Angels.

    More tomorrow. 🙂
